Have you seen the Netflix hit “Marriage or Mortgage?”
Notice anyone familiar in Episode 7?
That’s right, it’s us!
The hit show’s producers reached out to us in 2019 (yep, pre-pandemic) about filming an episode segment in our L&L Market location on Charlotte Avenue in Nashville. We jumped at the chance, and here we are more than a year later with a fun streaming TV appearance under our belt.
Haven’t seen the show? Here’s the deal: each episode features a real couple with a healthy nest egg. With the help of Nashville realtor Nichole Holmes and Nashville wedding planner Sarah Miller, they’ll decide whether to spend their savings on a house or a dream wedding. The first season of the show is part house hunting, part wedding planning, and 100% based in Nashville. Each episode showcases a few of our favorite neighborhoods and some of the city’s most creative businesses and venues. We were honored to be “cast” alongside Textile Fabrics, Olia Zavozina, and Taylor’d Crowns.
In episode 7, you can see super-pregnant owner, Sarah Pounders, behind the register at Made in TN as TV couple Hayley and Andrew choose gifts and favors for their wedding party. This couple put so much thought into celebrating with their community, and custom favors and gifts were at the top of their list. Hayley and Andrew were on a mission to choose just the right combination of local products that would welcome guests to Nashville, make them feel appreciated, and give them a little Nashville souvenir to take home.
Working with wedding planner Sarah Miller was a great chance for us to show a national audience just how we serve our wedding customers. We love helping couples create special gifts for hotel welcomes, bridesmaids and groomsmen. We even help with wedding favors by the hundreds, offering bulk pricing on customized gifts (a pretty rare find in the wedding industry). We truly love collaborating with wedding planners and couples to make their big days personal and special.
We had so much fun working with the Marriage or Mortgage crew, and we were thrilled at the opportunity to give some of our makers and vendors a little air time. Watch the episode to catch glimpses of Music City Suds, Loveless Cafe, Nashville Jam Company, Hoff BBQ sauce, Little Seed Farm, and Sweet Tea Candle Co. You’ll even get in on a discussion about hot sauce heat, Thistle Farms’ gorgeous candles, and a lot of love for the Bourbon and Cedar scent from Olivina Men.
We won’t spoil the episode for you, but after getting to know their story, we fully support Hayley and Andrew’s decision. Don’t miss Marriage or Mortgage on Netflix, and find Sarah and Aubri (still snug as a bug in Sarah’s belly) in Episode 7, around the 15-minute mark.
