MacKenzie Colt went from the famous Hee-Haw Show to being the star of her own chocolate and dessert company based in Nashville, Tennessee.  After hard work, persistency, and determination, MacKenzie convinced Middle Tennessee Honeybaked Ham Stores to allow her to sell her now-famous Gooey Butter Pies in their stores at Thanksgiving and after selling out, she was asked to come back with even more pies for the Christmas holiday.  Shortly thereafter, she was branching out into chocolate confections and more dessert recipes and launched Colt’s Chocolates in 1984.  Today, Colt’s Chocolates are sold nationwide and are a local Tennessee favorite.  Staples like Chess Pie can be found on restaurant menus and her chocolate covered marshmallows are sold in Crate and Barrel stores during the Holidays.
