In 1990, 16 year-old Danielle Ontiveros had a problem: she couldn’t find a snack bar that was delicious, healthy, and kept her feeling full. She started experimenting with recipes in her mom’s New Orleans kitchen, and Grab the Gold was born. By 2005, Danielle’s business was booming in Louisiana; sadly, that year she lost her facility and equipment in Hurricane Katrina. Friends, family, and local customers encouraged Danielle to rebuild her operations in Nashville, TN where she and her team create Grab the Gold products today.
Danielle and Grab the Gold love their local community and are big on giving back. When you buy a Grab the Gold snack bar, a portion of the sale goes right back into the Middle Tennessee community in the form of donations to charities and fundraisers. Grab the Gold also partners with the Red Cross for disaster relief and provides over 40,000 meals a year to families in need. During the 2020 pandemic, they increased their charitable giving to provide an incredible 120,000 meals.
