If you’ve spent any time in Music City, it seems the Spirit of Nashville posters and prints pop up just about everywhere, from restaurant walls and corporate lobbies to homes in every neighborhood in town. The Spirit of Nashville brand has become synonymous with the “it” city itself, serving as its unofficial calling card and celebrating Nashville’s diverse music history, arts culture, architecture, cuisine, and iconic attractions.
This illustrated poster collection became a sensation because it’s close to Nashville’s heart. The Spirit of Nashville started out as a 2003 calendar designed by Anderson Design Group, a small, family-owned design firm. The company wanted a creative way to reach out to its “big city” out-of-town clients, and designed a one-of-a-kind Nashville calendar to catch their attention. Each month’s poster featured a vintage-style illustration inspired by our iconic hometown. The prints were an instant hit and demand for poster versions soon soared, especially among Nashville businesses catering to visitors and tourists.
In true Music City style, Spirit of Nashville is a creative collaboration by 17 different Anderson Group artists, each with a unique personal take on what makes our city great. From bourbon and the Bluebird to baseball and Bicentennial Mall (just to name a few), Spirit of Nashville shines a special spotlight on Nashville’s internationally famous attractions and best-kept secret places.
Made in TN is proud to offer coasters, mugs, apparel and more featuring the Spirit of Nashville designs, as well as The Spirit of Nashville: The Art & Soul of Music City. With 59 full-bleed poster designs in this full-color coffee table book, you can enjoy the artwork, stories, and memories behind each one. Find your favorite here.
