JM Thomason is a family company based in Mount Pleasant, TN, using globally sourced spices to create its signature flavor profiles. Since the business opened in 2013, only nine signature blends have met their high flavor standards. Owner McKinley Thomason feels passionately about giving back to the hardworking Guatemalan farmers who grow, harvest, and dry the spices used in JM Thomason’s signature blends. The company partners with Heifer International, a global nonprofit organization, in support of several initiatives specifically for those farmers. One initiative, for example, provides farmers with nutmeg and allspice trees that not only bear crops, but also support vanilla and pepper vines and give shade for fragile coffee, cocoa, and cardamom plants.
