Meghan McCrary’s unique stationery and gift designs are a far cry from the saccharine sentiments you’d find in the Hallmark store. Sayings like “I miss your ugly face” meet stylish, colorful designs in this stationery business that’s equal parts sweet and sarcastic. Life through this artist’s eyes is a true taste of modern Southern charm.
Meghan McCrary’s designs incorporate images and sayings from the South, trendy text, lots of dogs and animals, bright colors, confetti, and, of course, sweets. Take her “Valentine’s Day is for Saps and Suckers” cards, for example; they’re designed to include a candy sucker and be handed out as an adult version of the cards we all passed around as kids. Some of her most popular designs include pets; Meghan’s own dachshund, Lux, appears in many of the designs.
Owner and designer Meghan McCrary started her professional career as an architect, graduating from her beloved University of Tennessee and diving headfirst into work at an architectural firm. She felt disconnected from the creative product in her new role; she missed sketching, designing, and working with her hands. She started her own stationery business in 2010, working at first out of the back of her mother’s hair salon. Today, she creates in a sunny studio full of inspiration and light.
Every Meghan McCrary product is designed, printed, cut, screened, and packaged by the artist herself, from start to finish.
Meghan’s Southern-inspired product line adds the perfect witty finishing touch for a personalized gift basket or special surprise. Made in TN is proud to carry Meghan McCrary cheeky magnets, apparel, paper goods and more. Find your favorite here.
