Paddywax understands the special role that scent plays in our memories and emotions; it’s also an important part of home decor. Every space deserves a signature fragrance, and Paddywax makes it their mission to create scented backdrops for everyday life. With intentional touches like crackling wicks, beautiful multi-functional vessels, and creative collections, these sought-after candles bring warmth and personality to any room.
Husband-and-wife team Gretchen and David Hollingsworth started Paddywax as a way to keep their creativity alive after college. The duo was fascinated by age-old candle crafting methods and found themselves perfecting their own recipes and fragrance profiles. They pride themselves on long and even burns (up to 60 hours) and balanced scent effusion.
These days, Paddywax operates out of Nashville, TN and has more than 150 chandlers (aka candle makers) crafting each candle. They mix, pour, and test the soy wax, and package each vessel by hand and with intention. You can even visit Paddywax Candle Bar locations across the country (with two spots in Nashville) to build your very own candle.
Here at Made in TN, we keep our online and in-store shelves stocked with our favorite Paddywax candles, plus hand creams, soap bars, and other products in their signature scents. We love the beach Saltwater & Suede, earthy Cedarwood & Teak, and—of course—the fan favorite Tobacco & Patchouli.
