Working primarily with watercolor and ink, Whitney Winkler is endlessly inspired by natural shapes and textures. Rocks, roots, and flowers flow from her brushwork, brought to life in warm earth tones and airy pastels.
Whitney has been a lot of things in her life— wife, mother, and songwriter, to name a few. Painting and visual art came to her more recently, planting the seeds for a home-grown business with a national reach. She started painting at her kitchen table as a form of “me-time” when her children were little babies, and fell in love with every step of the process: design, technique, color, and emotional expression. As painting became less of a hobby and more of a craft, Whitney began to experiment with contrasting aesthetics, which became her signature style. She loves to pair the hard with the soft, the modern with the feminine, the organic with the geometric, for designs that are altogether unique and evocative.
Since its humble origins, Whitney Winkler Art has grown and flourished like the flowers she paints. Today, Whitney’s brand reaches a wide audience online with more than 15,000 followers on Instagram. Still happily rooted in her Tennessee home, Whitney opened her own storefront and studio in downtown Memphis in 2021. Whitney counts her local arts community as a constant source of inspiration and encouragement.
We love the soft edginess of Witney’s watercolor Tennessee prints—they make a gorgeous keepsake gift or addition to your own decor collection.
